As part of the line-up of 2022 Lexus Hybrid Sedan, the 2022 Lexus ES 300h is equipped with the 4th generation Lexus Self Charging Hybrid System which includes a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. This powertrain is paired with an all-wheel drive system with dynamic torque control. Long, low and wide, the ES 300h delivers a remarkably stable ride. This powertrain generates 215 hp and consumes only 5.5 L/100 km in the city and 5.2 L/100 km on the highway.
The 2022 Lexus LC 500h Coupe is an exciting self-charging electric car! It features a driver-focused interior and the world's first self-charging multi-stage hybrid system equipped with a 3.5L 6-cylinder engine. This hybrid system is paired with a multi-stage transmission with M-mode and rear-wheel drive. This powertrain unleashes a whopping 354 net horsepower to get the 500h off to a blistering start, while reducing fuel consumption to just 7.1 L/100 km on the road!
Last but not least, the Lexus LS 500h also features the Lexus Hybrid Drive system with 354 hp. This self-charging electric powertrain is paired with an eCVT transmission with 10-speed automatic simulated shift control and all-wheel drive.

You will never need to plug in your Lexus to charge its battery, as it recharges automatically as you drive. When you brake, the energy generated by the brakes is stored in the battery.
The self-charging hybrid technology of Lexus hybrids smoothly combines the power of the combustion engine with the efficiency of an electric motor to suit the situation (acceleration, braking, cruising speed). In traffic jams, the EV (100% electric) mode allows you to drive without using gasoline and without greenhouse gas emissions.
Plug-in hybrids are equipped with the same energy management system as self-charging Lexus vehicles. The only difference is the much higher capacity of the battery.
This high-capacity battery provides a longer range in 100% electric mode. For example, the NX 450h + Plug-in hybrid offers a range of up to approximately 90 km in city driving in all-electric mode.
When plugged into a 240V home charging station, it will take 2.5 hours to fully recharge the high-capacity battery of a plug-in hybrid Lexus vehicle.
When the battery is drained, the Lexus vehicle automatically switches to self-charge mode.
